Nominations for Technician of the Year Open

The New Brunswick Forest Technicians Association (NBFTA) is still accepting nominations for the Technician of the Year, this is awarded annually to recognize a member of the Association for outstanding achievement. The award will recognize the achievements or contributions of a forest technician / technologist to forestry. The award shall be awarded only once to an individual.

Deadline for applications is March 22nd, 2019

Nominations
Any member of the NBFTA may be nominated for this award. A member of the Association or a member of the public may make a nomination for this award, nominations shall be e-mailed to contact@nbfta.org Or faxed to 356-4281 (Attention Blair DeGrace). In order for a nomination to be accepted it must be signed by two members of the NBFTA. A resume of the individual being nominated must accompany the nomination.

Evaluation Criteria
A nominee for the Technician of the Year Award shall exhibit the following:
o Is a member in good standing of the NBFTA
o Demonstrate adherence to the code of ethics of the NBFTA
o Demonstrate initiative in progressing forest technical/technological field
o Be recognized by her/his peers as a leader in forestry
o Demonstrate a commitment to continuing education
o Demonstrate a commitment to the NBFTA

MCFT Award

Hi All,
Each spring at the MCFT graduation, the NBFTA gives out an award to the New Brunswick student graduating from the college with the highest standing. This year’s award was given out to Mark Wentzell of Fredericton (right). Award being presented by Riley Côté-DeMerchant (left) on behalf of the NBFTA.

Trevis Schriver named NBFTA Forest Technician of the Year

It is with great pride that I announce the 2011 NBFTA Forest Technician of the Year winner: Trevis Schriver (below right).

Congratulations on your accomplishment Trevis. Your dedication and hard work for the NBFTA and the Department of Natural Resources has not gone unnoticed.

There has never been a more deserving winner!

It is official: Michael Cunningham is now an honorary life member of the NBFTA

Micheal Cunningham, Forest Engineer, of Engage Agro has been presented with his membership into the NBFTA. Mike has been a great friend of the association and has, since our inception in 1996, been the sponsor of the New Brunswick Forest Technician of the Year Award.

The NBFTA congratulates Mike and thanks him and Engage Agro for their continued support of the NBFTA and forest technicians and technologists living and working in New Brunswick.

NBFTA Congratulates Brandon Hicks

Congratulations to Brandon Hicks, winner of the NBFTA Scholarship for 1st Year MCFT Students. The 18-year-old Sackville, NB resident is also the 2010 Graduating Class President.
